Anybody know why Tom and Ed made Hoops completely different to EBW 6, but pretty much kept EBW 8 as it was? That's the only disappointment I have with Saturate. It doesn't add much to the EBW8 version. Whereas Hoops is amazing, and complete reinvents EBW6.

Yeah I had the same question lodged in my mind too but I don't like to talk Chemical Brothers on this forum, I prefer topics such as violent storms and how drunk people are.
I was a little dissapointed when I heard Saturate was the same as EBW8. I feel wrong using the word 'dissapointed' for such an amazing track.

Iggy, you know I like you man, so I'm gonna put this as gently as possible:
If you want to gossip about the Brothers personal life, go over with all the other homosexuals to perezhilton.
If anyone has a problem with this, I suggest taking it up with the person who gave me this authority, the president of Astralwerks.

And people wonder why people leave. Well, here's the answer. Hint: it's not the layout.
And since you locked my thread: I fail to see what's so pointless about discussing what we can and can't discuss. I tried to set-up a thread for debate (and hereby openly questioning your methods, boohoo), but this clearly isn't allowed by you nazi douchebags.
And maybe I just might send whoever is in charge of Astralwerks and this forum a complaint. I am sure I can point out some threads that are open for discussing the mod's erratic behaviour. Hell, it's better to try than not at all.

I know that you've always thought that the whole 'Even Tom & Ed Think Slipvin's a Cunt' thing was a joke, but it wasn't, so complain away.
There is no discussion. If you don't understand what is meant by "personal life" (and I know this might be hard for you, since you don't have one) then you shouldn't be on the internet. If you can't read between the lines and figure out what's up, then you're too thick to get it.
Let. It. Go.
it's not a fight you can win. It's not even a fight. A fight would imply two sides where either has a chance of winning. You don't.
And really, do you know how sad this makes you? You're complaining that I won't let you talk about Ed and Lily's relationship. Do you really, really want to be remembered as the guy who used to be sort of cool but he couldn't stop talking about Ed's relationship? Really? Go get a copy of the Enquirer if you're so into celebrity gossip. I'm sure Britney Spears is having a very interesting breakdown right now, go slaver over that instead.

yeah, you could move the gossip talk over to the Lily forum, they seem to welcome it over there. Might wanna do some Ed defending too, they are talking castration over there!
I feel like I'm in high school again reading all these "Lily gets dumped" articles.... Keep your chin up Ed, it will be all over soon.
any who....
I think I'm gonna go listen to EBW6 in honor of this thread

No, it's not about gossip threads, it's about you deciding what should be and shouldn't be discussed. It's about censorship on this board. And you can delete all you want, it only proves me right. If you want people to follow certain rules then make some rules and sticky them instead of this erratic nazi behaviour.

The only thing I could imagine being added to Saturate would defo be the drum-loop they bring in in their live sets before Believe starts. That'd have been quite awesome. Apart from this it's just a perfect track - nothing needs to be necessarily added/changed. It works in both directions life and for home listening whereas the album version of Hoops wouldn'd work live (the way the "remix" does) but is excellent for home listeing (i love the guitarlines!!!!!), imo.

I enjoyed EBW 6 loads more than Hoops. There's a lot going on, it feels more atmospheric and epic. And live it is simply orgasmic when those screechy sounds feel like they are slicing through the soul. That said, I think Hoops works on Come With Us whereas it's somewhat evil twin EBW 6 might have been too overpowering in the overall flow.
I feel that Saturate fits on the album and flows perfectly as is. Its EBW counterpart is longer and is an extension of the euphoria and blissed out yearning Saturate provides. Maybe there isn't much "wow EBW 8 is light years different than Saturate!!!" because the song was good enough as is and they felt maybe a few nips and tucks here and there were all that was needed to make it fit into the shape of We Are The Night?

I usually never just "listen" to EBW8. I always listen to Saturate. but I think EBW8 has that beginning beat and an extended ending simply because it IS and Electronic Battle Weapon. It's meant to be DJd. The only time i play EBW8 is when im mixing, because it has that drum part in the beginning which makes it easier to mix with. but if im just listening to music i would play Saturate.

'Stash, you're becoming a right cunt. I'm sure you feel like a mini Internet God since you stole mod powers from Whirls, but please stop ruining this forum.
P.S. my statement about talking about other topics instead, was a joke.
anyway, EBW7 is the bestest. Always reminds me of Vamps in Woking :D

I have a theory (it's just a theory) but I think EBW 6 was mostly an Ed song and Hoops became the joint song between Ed and Tom. Tom played guitar on that, right?.... I might be SO off on this.
If they would've put guitar on Saturate though, I would've picketed.

Just a question; did EBW 6 come out before or after Hoops on Come With Us? Because I know EBW 8 came out before We Are The Night, and I was just thinking that might have had some weight on it sounding pretty much like Saturate.
Forum drama -- fleeeeeeeeeeee! Nah. Phht. If I knew what half of this was about, I'd say something. But all I can say now is; relax, you guys! You can work it out.
