i just got an evolution mk-225c to use with reason, but there is a mass delay when using it in real time, i know this happens with alot of midi controllers but i was wondering if theres like a driver or a patch that i can get or do i have to get an asio card?

theres a massive delay? :?
hmm.. I use a Roland PC 180 midi controller, full real-time.. never a delay
But I don't use Reason, so I'm not really one to talk...
btw, do you play well?

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

OK, I've only used Reason on a PC and tinkered with it on a Mac.
Here's what you should try:
In Reason, go to the tool bar and click on Edit - a menu will pop up. Scroll down the menu and click on Preferences.
At the top of the window there is a field that says Page. You will need to use the arrow keys and select Audio
Check your sample rate. I have mine set at 44100 and this works fine for me and doesn't wack out my computer.
Next up, and this is the crux of your problem... Check your Output Latency. Mine is set at 2304 (52 ms) and works well for me but I had to adjust it to get it just right. Play around a bit with the output latency, and hopefully your problem will be solved.
Be careful with the output latency and use a bit of discretion here. If you adjust it too high or too low, it will affect the CPU's and will cause "skipping" when you record.
Hope it helps. Good luck!

Oh, I forgot to add. I don't have the best of soundcards for my computer and I have to be sure I update the drivers. If you are experiencing crackling and a mass amount of skipping no matter what you do, try and update your soundcard drivers. I don't have a url but you can find the drivers by doing a search.
