Anybody like them?

I haven´t properly listened to them as I thought they were another one among the thousands of samey indie-rock bands. But I´m already taken. I loved their beautiful score for L´autre monde and i started with their discography. They started doing some kind of stadium shoegazing and later evolved into more 80s synthy stuff.

But Hurry up is something else that i don´t know how to describe. It´s just awesome. Wikipedia classify them as dream-pop, next to a lot of artists that have colaborated with the Chems, maybe...Posted Image

Record of the year for me.

I haven't gotten into them full on properly but I do enjoy just about everything I've heard from them. I saw them at Coachella in 2005 and I had no idea who they were, but their set was captivating enough to stop me in my tracks and stay until the end. Their set was heavy psychedelic tinged and shoe gazey. In a way it sort of reminded me a bit of a young Pink Floyd in that it had that epic spark but a feeling of rawness as well. I'm not sure how their sets play out now but if I happened upon them again in a live setting I'd check them out again, for sure.

I need to listen to the new album more before I can really start posting songs, but here are some of my faves from their last couple of albums:

I like this new song remixed by Trentemoller (however, the image could give me nightmares).

i don´t know how they manage to translate the record sound into live sound, it must be certainly a difficult task. When you saw them they were doing this shoegazing thing, it was so epic and over the top that was too much. But what are they doing nowadays is something very special. Closer to Vangelis than My Bloody Valentine, so to speak. Lots of different styles and sounds, you discover new things with every listen.

I´d like to see them doing more soundtracks, it´d be amazing.
