If i may... if other people can hear what you're listening to you are damaging your ears. Please be careful. :)

My headphones are perfect for the price they cost me :

Koss UR-10, 15 euros or so. You'll have a really good sound, and it cancels the ambient sound very well. And they're very soft on the ears.

I just bought some Sony ear buds and I'm quite pleased with them. They ran me $40 bucks. They have the rubber pads so they don't slip out, and the sound quality is good but I wish there was a bit more bass. They will do. The next ones up on my list were the Shure, Bose and Seinnheiser for $100+ and I just don't listen through headphones enough to justify spending that much money on them.

I would've loved to have gotten the same pair of headphones my bro-in-law has - this brand called Ultimate Ears. http://www.earphones...m/uleasucl.html I heard Do It Again on those headphones and my perspective on that song was changed forever. These ones I tried out were the noise cancellation buds that snuggle into your ear. The sound coming out of them was fantastic, because of this dual driver technology. But they come with a price tag of $189 which was out of my range.

Nobody tells about the HD595?

HD600 has a 300 Ohms impedance. This means you should use them only on good amplifiers (exclude PC and portable devices).

ps: i loved my first set of pro Sony DJ headphones. lasted about 7years or so with me listening to them on a daily basis and even as I would go to sleep, which meant I was probably beating them to deat each night. those phones saw me through Dig Your Own Hole, Surrender and Come With Us. The were still sounding great 7 years later until my wife sat on them and put pressure on them the wrong way.

I got another set and they still sound good, but my drunk ass stepped on them a few months ago. I have recently had to superglue them together a few times, but they still sound good.

ps- make sure if you ever superglue your headpohnes that you don't glue your hands to them. it sucks.

Ooooo! sneakerbeater you are like the Chemical Bloodhound, always sniffing out cool tidbits of Chems stuff!! I want those headphones. $117.00 US is not a bad price for Sennheisers. Even the basic Sennheisers that are available here (at a store called Target that carries affordable stuff) the Sennheisers are in that range. A few more bucks and you're the ultimate Chems geek with a pair of logo'd cans on your head!

It's so tempting... but I need to save money for whenever the Chems tickets go on sale...

Go ahead, prochem. I'm all ears (and eyes).

Target is one of my favorite stores. It is the bane of my husband's existance, many a financial argument was because I overspent at Target. But I can't help it, I'm a girl like that. There's... too... much... good... stuff. And now they carry Boots products - my life is complete!

I just purchased a set of Sony MDR-XB500's. I see a couple of people ripping into Sony above but this set has had very good reviews (and a 1/5 review from what-hifi) from people who use them regularly. They're certainly not for everyone because they're very bass heavy which is something I've always looked for, where as some people want a more balanced sound. It cost me Β£31.10 and some have said they are comparable to higher end headphones so for that price it could be an absolute bargain. I haven't received them yet, but when I do I'll report back.

I recently bought me the sony mdr v55, which were about €89 in our capitalisic media store. I was able to haggle the price down do €69 which is the regular on the internet. They've got a 5hz to 25kHz frequency fidelity which is really good for that price. They're also designed to withstand 1000mW and have 105dB, so they can be used very easily with stereos and they're quite loud, too. Given the low freq band the bass turns out nice as well.

Btw, you should get an extension cord for these, 1,2m (like mine) is quite short as I experienced. But then again, I don't know in which sort of setting you wanna use them anyway.
