Ben J, can we be friends? You have some great taste in music, as do I and I would love it if you could share the new music you find with me at iguanapunk@gmail.com *hugz*

Awesome to see French Touch thread here again. In my mind there are 2 key points in time to the popularity of the French style.

mid to late 90s: Daft Punk (pre robot era), Laurent Garnier, Mr. Oizo (Flat Beat), Cassius, Air, Modjo, and Dimitri from Paris

2005 to now: Justice, Vitalic, Busy P, Data, Daft Punk (pryamid robot era), Mr. Oizo

Now in my opinion you only really have 2 in both eras since everyone electric minded listener loves them and Oizo went on a total new tip. All the acts in the 90's era are around still and are great but they are not lauded over as they once were. They just aren't making stuff that is catching our attention as quick. Vitalic and Justice didn't really come up big till 2005.

I could also include French band (but not electro touch band) Phoenix in this list in the new era. Yes, they have been around since the late 90's and many of us knew about them. I remember seeing them play in the middle of the afternoon at Coachella 2006 but they were a middle of the lineup act back then. Their last album with 1901 and more electro influence has moved them to a headliner act and a defacto member of the touch movement.

My other debate is where to put Alex Braxe & Fred Falke, Etienne De Crecy. There kinda both with Falke and Braxe continually putting out great stuff and Etienne De Crecy came out with that amazing cube show a few years back.

my choice for cuts (that you have probably heard before:

Modjo - What I Mean (Aloud remix)

Only Mr Oizo and Daft Punk are both in the 90's and after 2005 ? I don't agree at all, Laurent Garnier is still here as well as Air (each of them released an album last year).

^^

Respect. I agree with the idea of the two movements, from my limited perspective.
