Which of these things is not like the other?

(Hint: answer requires zero knowledge of the chemical brothers' music)

Exit Planet Dust

Dig Your Own Hole

Surrender

Come With Us

Push the Button

We Are the Night

Yeah.... Why is the new album breaking with tradition and being named a statement rather than a command?

It's actually a hidden message that tells us: "Dudes, exit planet dust, don't dig your own hole and surrender. Better you come with us. Push the button now because we are the night!

This is a fact, hehe! They're holding the club scene in a chemical balance.

we are the nude night.. how many thousads of people have made that remark yet?

either way they all are still similar in their powerful ways of action or identifying. if they had titled surrender "welcome to the warm arts" as they almost did (according to one of the guys in an old interview), we might've been trouble ages ago

nah then the tradition would have already been established, two imperatives, statement, two imperatives, statement

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

stash and I were talking with our brother-in-law about this the other night.

I think the Chems have entered a new realm. After years of demanding that we exit, dig, surrender, come and push they realize the world is listening and is ready to follow them into the night.

Or something. I'm sure it will all be revealed when we hear the album.

But I must say that anType made the "command" observation first, a few years ago. The reason why I remember is because he brought it up and it spurred conversation. If I remember correctly, sneakerbeater mentioned what a keen observation that was on anType's part and that he had a better command of the English language than most English speakers do.

(I have a sacrey memory like that.)

I remember anType's (so that's who it was...) observation which is why I made this topic... What's up with all the hate? I know you might be pretty angry at some other WATN bashers, but I'm doing nothing of the sort, only playing off anType's observation as one of the first things I noticed about the title is that it wasn't command.

Noooooo! You got me wrong, I'm not mad at you, voodoo - not at all! Never! I think you brought up a good point that was worth reviving. I was just babbling about what I remembered from long ago, is all.

Not you, whirly, but some of the others seem rather angry.

Oh, OK - I thought I said something that came off like I was upset.

Beats me, though. I don't know why there's anger in this thread!

Aye, I remember asking the same thing in one of the WATN topics on the old board. I do find it quite odd, kinda how there was no song called "Push the Button" on PTB, which broke the tradition of the 3 previous albums.

I agree, though, they can do whatever they want! They can even name songs "The Salmon Dance"! Muwhahahaha!

...

sorry :)

I bet Galvanize was originally "Push the Button" I mean, it has it in the lyrics.

You're right Profunk, about the previous 3 albums - there was not track called Exit Planet Dust...

Goes to show one can't ever predict what shenanigans the Brothers are going to put us up to next. :)
