I'm back from Folk Fest, feeling pretty good. Lots of ups and downs and good memories. I actually returned with three beers, a bottle of Jack, and some hash, surprisingly.

Caught lots of good music, from the Indigo Girls to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones to the Cat Empire to children's entertainer Fred Penner. Best acts of the weekend were Michael Franti and Spearhead, as well as a Pope's Hill/campground rave set by That1Guy.

Seriously, That1Guy was awesome. He's a one man band, playing a custom instrument, and rocking some seriously awesome industrial/electro tunes. His best tune was 'Buttmachine', which sounded like the lovechild of 'Another One Bites the Dust' and 'Closer'. I remarked at the time that he was a lot like dancey Nine Inch Nails, except good. Of course, the fact that I was hippyflipping at the time didn't hurt either. And he had a wicked video setup being operated on the fly by a local artist.

Watched the sun come up three days in a row, got maybe 9 or 10 hours sleep all weekend. Smoked and smoked and smoked. Ate lots of great food. Had a huge hassle with Ticketmaster, work, the bank, etc. on the way out.

Didn't hook up with my friend, with whom I've been seeking a relationship, which really sucked. I think that ship is heading nowhere fast. She messes with my head too much. I was pretty disappointed and frustrated for a while.

And then the following night while I was hippyflipping, this girl I just met was really into me, but I was rolling too hard and wanted to party earlier in the night and just wasn't in the mood really when I ran into her later, even though my friends said she'd been looking for me most of the night and said it was pretty much a done deal if I'd manned up. I'm a moron, what can I say? Just stayed up smoking hash until the sun was high in the sky.

Rocked the mushrooms and gelcaps three nights in a row with no adverse consequences. Ate more ice cream than is healthy.

Definetly a weekend dedicated to pure hedonism, Winnipeg Folk Festival is so relaxed, so lax on security, such good weather (around 30 C every day), it's really about the one thing I could honestly recommend to everyone on this board. Fantastic.

I'm back in the city, feeling good, rollerbladed this morning, maybe going to see Transformers tonight.

A bit choked because I don't have enough money to buy WATN yet since I'm having problems with my bank.

Otherwise life isn't too bad.

Cheers.

(PS. Hippyflipping is great. Wish I'd had more. And apparently it's possible to smoke so much hash that it doesn't do anything anymore.)

I wasn't actually tripping all that hard, since I didn't have much mushrooms, but it really helped kick the MDMA in. I definetly felt the two caps and couple grams of shrooms much more than the four caps I'd taken the previous night.

I'm just doing a little searching on That1Guy and I must recommend that you guys check him out. Absolutely fantastic. I'm really sad because he's playing a festival about three hours away in Minnesota in about 10 days and is doing a five-night stand there, but I can't afford to go (festival is also featuring The Tragically Hip, Zappa Plays Zappa, Moses Mayes, and The Absent Sound, among other acts I like). I think he's my new favourite act of the moment. I'd rank his campground show as one of the best musical moments I've had.

Acid Trip Better Planned Than Vacation

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA— Jonathan Andriesko's weekend acid trip was better planned than his trip to Arizona last month, friends of the 22-year-old video-store clerk reported Monday. "Jon spent hours making sure everything was right," coworker Craig Jaeger said. "He requested two days off from work well in advance, rented 2001: A Space Odyssey, filled up his CD changer with Aphex Twin and Boards Of Canada discs, took the phone off the hook, stocked up on vitamin-C tablets, set up all the food he was going to need for the next 12 hours... You'd think he was planning a wedding." By contrast, Andriesko merely expressed vague plans to "get going sometime Saturday" before embarking on a mid-March trip to Scottsdale.

Bwah! That's fantastic... and also hits close to home. I can honestly say I've planned out nights on psychedelics with far more intricacy than some road trips or weekends away. Hell, I think I've planned shrooming or pilling more than I planned coming down to Coachella (yeah, definetly; I didn't even have a hotel room for Sunday night).

I'm bored. Back to reality now after a great weekend. I have literally $0.00 in my bank account, credit card won't even pay for a $3 lunch, etc. So, I'm going to have a quiet night in, have a couple drinks, smoke the last of my hash, and watch a movie if I don't fall asleep (which I almost certainly will since I only got 2 3/4 hours sleep last night).

Hey! Just checked the mail and got a cheque for $90 from the government. Yay! Although I think I'm still going to stay in... Might watch the baseball all-star game for reasons that defy me.

ah, psychedelic trips need to be planned for best experiences, only if u get a chance ie.

that onion article really hit home here too - me n my mates used to go through the craziest most detailed planning/ setting we ever did for anything in our lives for those journeys.

First time I did acid it was just a spur of the moment thing. Literally made the decision in a snap and then took it about 30 minutes later at a pool hall. One of the best nights ever.

Wanna know what I think is bullshit? I think it's bullshit that some jerk offs think they're gonna warn me and tell me to stop lagging when they have no idea WHAT the fuck I'm doing. All I was doing was responding to posts.....responding TO MOTHER FUCKING POSTS ON THE INTERNET SINCE 1998!!!!!!!!

I'm going to say this once and I'm going to use small words so you will be sure to understand:

Me Mod

You n00b

STFU or leave.

I'll warn you, I'll tell you to stop spamming, or tell you to fuck your hamster, or send $500 to a guy in Nigeria, and you'll do it, or you'll be gone, get it?

From your writing, if you've been posting since 1998, I take it you started when you were 2? What was it, the Teletubbies Forum?

Now stop acting retarded.

yo yo yo last night was messed up.

So me, Nick and Puneet were standing outside Nick's apartment smoking Marlboro sigs. This fob bunch is so secretive about smoking cigs that they actually go into detailed planning about when and where to smoke them. One of them provides us with a mint gum and the other one with a Tommy Hilfiger perfume. No trace of smoking is left.Ever. ANYWAYS,

Puneet gets a call on this slick new cell phone. He immediately panics and tells us to get in the car. "Chalo CHalo Chalo, hurry up! get in the car!". Me and Nick look at each other with a bemused look. He tells us the his brother is having a seizure and needs to be taken to a hospital. He takes my keys and drives like a fucking maniac. Doing 70 in 40. Nick and I try to calm him down by saying everything is going to be ok and that he needs to drive calmly. He drove my baby very crazily and I'm still mad about that. We almost got into an accident, thanks to Puneet's quick reflexes we are still alive. Otherwise you wouldn't have the pleasure to read this interesting story. ANYWAYS,

We get to his house, he is in the middle of an attack. Epileptic attack. Which I'm still trying to figure out what triggered it. Puneet tells me it's stress and pressure. He thinks that because he yelled at his mom infront of him ,Rohit, he is having this seizure. His head was shaking and his feet were trembling. His mom and sister were all there to calm him down. Because me and Nick have never met the brother before, his mom advises us to step outside. Maybe she thought he might have another attack seeing that we were outsiders/strangers. All this time Puneet is trying to calm Rohit down. Sonia(her sister) thought otherwise. She kept telling Puneet to speak calmly and not loudly. "Pagal insaan, tu usko araam se baat kar. Tu usko auur dara raha hai." We take him to Emergency. Oakwood Community Hospital. 10 minutes ride for their suburban house. Rohit, Puneet, Nick and this other cousin all go in one car and Puneet tells me to be responsible for taking his mother and sister to the hospital. As I'm taking them to the Emergency, mom and sister tell me that this attack has happened to him before six months ago. Doctor didn't prescribe any medication and basically just told them not to let Rohit drive car. I started imagining what might the scene look like if someone is having a seizure while driving. Scary thought.

We get there, Rohit is already in the emergency room talking to the doctor.

Puneet gets pissed off because the doctor was talking a lot of time filling out the report and not the actual check up. I tell him it's important for them to ask all these questions, for records purposes.

30 minutes of waiting in the Visitor waiting room. Let me remind you at this point that me, Nick and Puneet were both heavily intoxicated before all this ordeal. We were chilling at Nick's drinking Budweiser and Red label. A little bit of Chavel Reagal. Watching Dil Chahta Hai and repeating all the funny dialogues from the movie,.... "Akaaaasshh......tum bhi sameer ho.....mein sooch raha tha ke Switzerland ja ka shahed-ki-makihon- ka farm khol lo...christine chahti hai...." ANYWAYS,

This whole thing was a major buzz kill. Puneet decides that he is going to stay with his brother for the rest of the night. Fucking 1 oclock at night.

We go back to Nick's apartment and finish off where we left off like a good

concerned friends would do.

Nick starts to puke but later cleans after himself. I wasn't going to touch that shit. I crash at his place. I wake up at 1030, he is already gone to work and I come home to thechemicalbrothers.com.
