I'm looking for a program that'll let me separate a large mp3 into multiple tracks. For example I have Sasha'a Airdrawndagger as a single mp3 and I want to cut it so each of the tracks is its own mp3. I'd also like to split some of the live recordings I have of the Chems track by track.

I have Audacity, but it's not the most efficent way of doing this. Ideally, I'd like something that would let me set what each track's start and end, plus tags and whatnot, and then have it export it as individual files. Anything out there that you guys know of?

I'm gonna hit Cnet while I wait, maybe I'll find something.

Looks good Champiness, but it appears to be Mac only. I'm a PC.

Hmm... well then... I suppose that leaves me a little short on personal recommendations, but may I suggest this blog post?

I've used sony's sound forge for about 10 years, used to use it for splitting audio recordings like live stuff (since cwu tour way back). Really easy and not too hard to learn. No mac version was a bummer when I made the switch.

Goldwave and Sound Forge... sounds good. I'll check em out.

Edit: Oh. I suppose I should have mentioned that I'm looking for a free program... I'll look at Champiness's suggestions for now, I haven't checked them all out yet.
