To iguanapunk :

yes, I listened to Kid A and if I remember correctly there are few good songs on it (e.g. Idiotheque). On the whole, In rainbows seems better than Kid A even if the best song of Kid A is better than the best song on In rainbows.

Fair enough, but for me is THE best album EVER written. EVAR. in HISTORY. I didn't get Kid A at first, I even returned it to the shop :o but later on realised my mistake when I could no longer finder inner peace. I re-made my purchase, and I found a cool little booklet hidden inside the back of the CD case.

stash... I'm not disagreeing with you on radiohead. just throwing that out there.

listened to them years ago (especially kid a), but it's a little over dramatic and thom yorke has a rough voice to listen to... and it's not in a good Bob Dylan way.

I just very well may buy this album, because their last one only had 3 good tracks and some major shat (amnesiac fell into that category too)

I'll likely give it a listen when I have the chance.

When I first (officially) moved out of my parents' house, my roommate was really into OK Computer. It was pretty good, but I have some weird memories attached to that album. I also worked with a lot of Radiohead fans and I've heard more than my fair share. Don't get me wrong, but try as I might I just haven't been able to click with Radiohead over the years. I want to, I've put out some effort, but I don't know. It just wasn't happening for me and I can't explain it. I can appreciate what they're doing and they have some great sounds. But I guess I'm still waiting for it all to fall into place. Maybe this time it will?

and maybe it wont. Some music just doesn't work for us as it does for others. Forcing music onto yourself is the wrong thing to do. I did that with Thom Yorks solo album - The Eraser, and it just wasn't working. I finally understood the album and enjoyed once I actually wanted to put the album on, rather than feeling like I had to because i'm a Radiohead/Yorke fan.

Yeah Biff,Yorke certainly has a love him/hate him thing going on and I can understand that. I personally love his vocal talents, especially on the Eraser when they removed the echos and reverbs and had his raw voice. Made it a bit more vunrable.

The reason I ask is because the album has been hugely downloaded from torrent sites rather than from the Radiohead site. *sigh* people are so incredibly lazy.

Anyway, some HUGE Radiohead news! Read it even if you don't like Radiohead, you will be amazed! http://puddlegum.net/

How is it 8 months ago that the album was released?! Mental!

I saw Radiohead live in Victoria Park last night, my first ever Radiohead gig and oh my..no words. I haven't felt such emotion since The Chemical Brothers at Glastonbury 2004. I was so in awe of it all some girl thought I was e'd up and asked if I had any spares :D AMAZING experience!

I think the Tennents Super and Super Skol helped too :D

I saw Radiohead in the summer of 2005--I wasn't exactly blown away.

saw radiohead in 2003

worked great for me.

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

@Madpoo did you go to see them specifically or was it at a festival? I can't imagine them ever doing a bad show, unless you're not a Radiohead fan.

Short video I took

What tour was that Glako?

The only negative for this gig was that the majority of it was in the sunshine, where as their music is more dark room.

I saw them in Berkeley at the Greek Theater, and it was just them with an opener. It wasn't a -bad- show per se, but it wasn't as amazing as the experiences I've had seeing other bands like the Chems or Sigur Ros.

If I want dark room music, Sigur Ros wins, by far.

I think, though, mostly the reason I didn't find it as stunning as I thought I would was because they played a lot of new stuff and tracks off Thom's solo album, all of which I wasn't familiar with. So the fact that I wasn't enamored with hearing them perform unreleased material combined with my desire to hear them play -so- many more of their old tracks led to me being fairly let down.

Yeah I can see your point. It always makes the difference if you know the songs. Have you listened to The Eraser btw? It's amazing.

House of Cards

Genius!

Go here to see the new video which wasn't recorded using cameras:

The most impressive part is the "data visualisation" bit at the bottom of the page. Click on it, and press the play button. Wait for it to load and you can then move around the visuals with your mouse.

AMAZING!
