The mistake I first made when listening to this soundtrack is thinking that it's a new Chemical Brothers album. It clearly isn't as it's a bit all over the place which is expected for a film soundtrack. Now I have adjusted my ears I am still yet to form a solid opinion as it's still fresh to my drums and I need more time.

Currently I'm not loving it as much as i'd hoped, it's got some nice tracks on there but I feel unsatisfied with them because they are constructed to fit a scene which is not in my head.

I thought it'd be better to have a seperate topic for the soundtrack, not that I feel like I have to explain myself to you bastards.

i am a big fan, i'd been wanting to hear the chems do some more minimal/experimental stuff and the constraints of a soundtrack have forced them to do just that, nice to hear some low key knob twiddling

why did you open a new thread for this?

btw, when listening to hanna first, I was also not sure. since I have listened to it again, also on vinyl, and hearing songs shuffled onto my iPod I am really happy with it. tracks I wasn't sure about at first have grown to be very big to me now.

iggy, let me also know your email pls for the avril track.
love is all.

I found the soundtrack really good. You can hear the Chems created a whole soundscape for the film.

Hey boy, if you spot a vinyl for a decent price in Germany, please keep me posted.

I only got to see Hanna the other day. I absolutely loved the sound track. It set the mood of every scene perfectly. It is a sound track like none I have heard before, again the Brothers raise the bar even higher.
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

Yeah, if FINALLY came out a couple of weeks ago down here. It's gotten great reviews all 4 out 5 and no lower that I've seen and everyone that I know does mention the soundtrack but don't know who did it....and of course wearing my chems forum member badge with pride do kindly mention that the chems did it. Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

I didn't like HANNA to be honest...I think the soundtrack is much better than the film IMO.

Ha Ha! Krisper. To put your mind at rest thinking that you've missed something in your chems collection, I don't think there is. It was just one of my over the top metaphorical descriptions.

I actually liked Hanna more than I thought. I was worried it was going to be annoying and not really believable to an extent but it turned out good. And there was a decent excuse as to why such a young girl was a crazed killer...

Soooo much hype was built for Tron it was crazy. Of course everyone was going to rip it to shreds when it finally came out.....

I loved Tr2n! I think it's the g33k inside me. Sure it wasn't perfect, and would have worked much better if it was darker but the visual were spunk worthy. I still like to put on the light cycle scene :D

^The light cycle scene on the cinema was INTENSE (especially for the sound).

The movie was a major flop in France, with 83 450 spectators.

Don't know the sales of the ost.

well, what did you expect? in the end, it was some kind of independent film, even though loads of advertisement has been done (at leats in some countries).

don't think the ost sold well . neither digital nor the CD

I never expected the movie to be successful, I knew it would fail when I saw it woold be released in july. Actually, I'm happy it failed, but sad the OST will too.

Finally got round to watching Hanna on DVD for the first time just yesterday, heard the soundtrack separately a few months ago. Really enjoyed the film, was exactly what I was expecting, a really good action thriller with a somewhat meaningful subplot. Whereas a lot of films of similar style would have had a fairly straightforward and predictable plot, I for one really liked the back-story of Hanna's own existence, ie, who she is and where she came from, plus her getting used to and experiencing the world for the first time.
Some of the reviews I've read have either been too critical of it being too violent and less focused on the story, although other reviews have been totally the opposite, praised the action and criticised the attempt of a meaningful plot.

Either way one things for sure, the soundtrack is purely awesome!! When I first listened to the soundtrack a few months back I unfairly found myself trying to listen to it as another Chemical Brothers album, looking for standout tracks that work on their own. Even though I still enjoyed 'Container Park', 'Escape 700' and 'Hanna's Theme', it wasn't until I watched the film with the music in context that I fully appreciated the soundtrack.
I for one really hope the soundtrack the Chems created for Hanna will bring new trends back to movie soundtracks, instead of the standard orchestral scores that seems to have been the trend for many years now, I would really love more film-makers to give other music styles the chance to work alongside the big screen.
Kind of makes me sad in a way that Faithless have retired from making music, I really felt their atmospheric soundscapes and overall depth they had to their early albums would have been amazing as film scores...
