I fuckin love it! LOVE IT!!! Wicked 8)
As far as advertising goes, Nike has had and continues to have one of the most solid campaigns in the business and have always made good use of the tunes they provide in their commercials.
Thanks for finding this irish fan!

well if went to trouble of getting tom and ed to write music for these ad's is suspect there are going to utilise the music as much as they can and use the music on the us ad's
We shall see - I hope so.
But ad campaigning is very much a demographic/regional thing because there's different target markets, and it's not often that ad agencies use one ad campaign clear across the board.
I remain hopeful that whoever handles the Nike US account hears the tune and thinks how cool it would be to use it over here in the US!

You should be happy Tom and Ed are getting the attention and its better than seeing Britney Spears new song on a commercial or something.
Tom and Ed have plenty of exsposure as it is....they deffinately dont need to be the backround music of such commercials for Budweiser and Nike. Following this line of selling your music commercially is following a similar path of another electronic artist, Moby. And what is Moby?, A SELLOUT.....like i said this is no good, maybe the chemical brothers ment for this to be,but i dont like it.
and by the way NIKE doesnt have the cleanest record ;-)

Sure Nike doesn't have the cleanest record, from factory production to glitches in advertising. But their campaigns are really good, very memorable commercials and print ads.
I have a biased attitude to advertising - my brother works in it. I am selective about what commercials I view are good, or what commercials I think are terrible and I have strong notions about them as a result. And not to sound pompous, I have somewhat educated opinions on the matter. There are good commercials, and there are bad commercials. What I like about this particular Nike campaign is that the focus is on dancing as a sport, and the target is women. Real women.
As for selling out - Chems song (Elektrobank, I think) was used in a Perelli tire ad, and Nissan has used Chems songs in commercials in the past. Moby marketed every single song off Play to be used in advertising everything from department stores to being theme songs for horrid prime time tv shows. Big difference between the odd Chems song being used in an advertisement every now and again.
I don't think the song was written especially for this commercial though. If you watch the behind-the-scenes (which is really cool I think) I'm hearing Shake Break Bounce - it seems like that was the template song used for filming the dance moves for the commercial.

I don't think the Bud Select commercial can even classify as a Chemical Brothers commercial. The commercial is highlighting q-tip more than the chems in the ad. They didn't include the song's signature middle easternesque string synth line. That said, the commercial doesn't seem like a chemical brothers sellout to me. I am in agreement with you though Bosco, I hate to hear them in commercials.
