lmao at anType!
Yes, I agree, I think there a few crap topics here that get in the way of stuff people really want to read. Like for example, there are at least 3 topics about Chemical boy 89 on here that have come up in the last week or so.
Plus, I think there should be a list of 'topics already started' displayed on here so we don't get the same old topics coming up all the time, like 'Come with us / TGP was disappointing', 'What is your Favourite Chems song / album / video' etc.
I think this is a good idea but there is one thing worth pointing out: We all know that somebody always changes the subject in a topic and we all end up talking about something completely different, so there will still be non-chemical stuff on the chemical forum and chemical stuff on the non-chemical forum!! ;-) But not as much as before :).

seeing as no one had any serious objection i have submitted my proposal to the administrator!! hopefully we will have our own playground, and a new found peace and unity on our forum will follow!!
So, will the neo-gossip forum be called "chemical playground"? A little problem scenario with that. Suppose someone new comes to the forums and sees two general discussion forums, "chemical talk" and "chemical playground". How could this person know that "chemical talk" means "chemical talk" but "chemical playground" means offtopic posts?
This newbie might post something totally offtopic to "chemical talk" and the first response from the locals would be "hey st00pid, use the playground forum" .. and this would happen over and over again.. :?
I don't know what would be the optimal situation, but maybe the offtopic forum should be called something else.

From my experience with forums, there's no solution like that that actually works. Newbies always post the same topics no matter what.

First off, I gotta say, cute Santa Hat, anType! ;)
You got some well based concerns, soundertow - I've been to a lot of forums with multiple forums designated to different subjects. The larger the community, the more helpful that becomes. Esepcially to lurkers and newbies. The largest community I've seen (I don't post there, but I lurk) is a U2 forum called Interference - it has some 15,000 odd members! Imagine if there were only a couple of forums for all those members... What helps keep things in place there as well as other places I've seen is a brief description of each forum in the Forum Index.
Example: Chemical Playground
feel free to talk about
anything non-Chemical here!
Chemical Talk
everything Chemical
related, from news to songs,
etc.
Right now there's nothing to guide people along, so it's natural there's some confusion as to what to post and where it's appropriate. I hate to say this but something a bit more regimented like seperate forums and forum descriptions will help people navigate around the forum with a lot more ease, especially lurkers or posters who only want to read/take part in on-topic Chemical stuff.

I like that idea. New Order's forum has kindda like that. i used to post there but was not welcome. Everyone on that site knew so much shit that i had no idea half the times what tracks they were talking about plus i was dissed by everyone when i talked about Out of Control :'(

Oh man, that stinks! I'm sorry you were unwelcome there, that's so unfair! It's not like you don't respect and admire New Order. And it's too bad those people can't understand that Out Of Control brought you close to New Order...
A while ago I worked with someone who's a good 8 years younger than me. A few years ago she went with her older sister to see Bauhaus - in front of her were these two people that kept turning around giving her snide looks. Finally her sister asked the twosome what their problem was and they said, "it's very late, I think it's past her bedtime... people like her aren't old enough to be real fans!"
I thought that was one of the rudest things to someone trying to enjoy a concert. }:-@

Good grief. Snoopy skates whith his feet, people. WHITH HIS FEET!!!
whith? WHITH?
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.
