Tucker & Dale vs Evil

This movie is better than Zombieland and Cabin Fever combined.

My son told me something this evening that reminded me of a film I saw not too long ago.

Has anyone else seen The Cove?

Saw it a couple of months ago. I'm not saying slaughtering dolphins isn't horrible (and I myself hyperventilated a little watching the film), but looking at where the meat and fishing industries are going who are we to point fingers on the Japanese? Homo "sapiens" are brutal in so many ways and in so many things...

Just saw The Brothers Bloom (2008). Frickin loved it. The writing's strong, the directing's beautiful, and the acting's fantastic. All around awesome performance. Honestly the best movie I've seen for a very long time.

Here's the first 7 minutes of it, should be enough to get anyone hooked:

correct, had lots of fun watching it. as i said, it's (in my opinion) better than zombieland which also was more comedy. zombieland is still a fantastic movie (the scene with bill murray is hilarious) but tucker & dale "is the tits".

I just watched The Sunset Limited (2011) with Sam Jackson and Tommy Lee jones, in a room, talking. It's excellent. I feel it would have worked better without a score though.

I'm excited about both:
Battle: LA - There is just something about the sounds and atmosphere of the trailer that got me, and I love the apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic genre.

Sucker Punch - Hot girls dressed like cosplayers, robots, explosions, what is not to like? Actually, I'm a little less excited about this movie than when I first heard about it a few months ago. Although, I'm probably still going to go see it.

Great taste, WN! It´s an amazing movie and I love how it portrays Prague. Awesome.

1) Marine 'warface' on...CHECK!
2) Tense 'war' background music...CHECK
3) Sentimental moments...CHECK!
4) Knowing when you bought your ticket, that you assume that this film had potential to be great action film, but in the back of your head, you knew that his was another 'recycled' aliens invade earth' movie and you got suckered into it....CHECK!

Agh I thought it was watchable, best sci-fi action in a good few years bar district 9. It wasnt exactly saving private ryan for action, or alien for suspence but i'd give it 3 stars.

On a more exciting note I hear their making a prequel to the 80's sci-fi "The Thing" that could be good. aswell as the new aliens prequel. Its all prequels or sequels or remakes these days, is hollywood running out of ideas?

Finally got around to watching The Virgin Suicides after being a fan of the soundtrack by Air since the release date. Haunting I think is the best single word to describe it. I really enjoyed it, and had no idea it had such a mainstream cast. If you see the cast list it could be mistaken for a romantic comedy. This fact doesn't take away from the film though, and after you watch it you feel....I'm not sure.
