I'm going to tentatively go forward with this whole fan forum idea here. The project will start slow at first since the future is still murky (and could result in not needing a new forum), and I'm still finishing up classes. But the plan is to have something for everyone by the time the first new show happens in June!

I've already archived all significant user's post counts and join dates (if your post count is over a certain count and you've logged in since 2010, or if you've been active recently). So no matter what our high scores won't be lost. There's about 110 of us btw.

New direction for live sets like they've been saying since the magnitude of Don't Think, at least visually. Who knows how big of a change it will be? I know in 2012 they were talking about doing a more stripped down show for future years but as Ed says "it will still be the same big production, with Adam's amazing visuals and the studio set up on stage", so perhaps we're just looking at an update to 8.0 and not a full blown reworking of their formula.

And as for the music live, I know some of us are holding out for some more improvization ala Underworld's glory days, but who knows if that will happen with one man behind the gear? And before you bring up that Rick's the one behind Underworld's decks, he still had Darren 1 or 2 for every year of touring. Except 2000-2004. Which admittedly had some really interesting shows and 2000 showed no decline in quality from the heights of 1998 and 1999. Okay, this could go either way and I'm rambling here. But in more Chemical terms - I really wonder what this will do to the live shows with just Tom's perspective on the performance and tracklisting. Maybe Tom will be able to try some things he couldn't do before? Or bring in his solo work?

Glad to hear Ed's still in the studio cranking out tunes with Tom even if he can't join him on everything including the odd solo tune and remix. And very glad we have a date set for the album release, within the next 13.5 months. I can wait slightly more patiently now.

Yeah, yeah, okay, obvious hoax, but apparently the new Chemical Brothers album is named Kids, they announced it two days ago on this site, and it's coming out in a month and a week.



I'm kind of impressed that "My Wiki Marc" and "95.45.140.138" went through the trouble (they linked the info everywhere conceivable). Wonder if there were any motives behind this, cause this seems a little too specific/obscure to be random vandalism...

When I posted Frankie Knuckle's Whistle Song in the Now Playing thread, chemicalreaction responded by posting something it reminded him of, and skyscraper responded by posting something that reminded him of. Gave me an idea for a thread. Someone posts a song, and the next person posts a song that the song before reminded them of, and so on. It can be any song you're reminded of, and the connection can be as disparate or close as it is. If no one can think of anything, just start a new song and get a different ball rolling.
