Ahahaha :-D Awesome.

I dunno exactly what happened w/ the champage spilling, but i believe ed was handing out champagne to some of the forum members. Rich (acidchildren) spilled some on tom and ed's decks!

I have so many awesome memories.

Forum-wise, i think EBW 8 & 9 being played on pete tong was the best moment in forum history. Everybody was listening, and we all went crazy on the forum. I believe MX said, after EBW 8 was played "I CAME!" hahaha. After EBW 9 was played, he said " I CAME TWICE! "

Also, the first gigs of the chems i went to (with chemd' up & irishfan)was a moment i will never forget. I went trough a hard time in my life ( big break-up) and that concert gave me so much love and energy (i was sober kids, this was back in the day when i didn't find out about the dark side of the force....).

And offcourse....the NYE's in turnmills. With so many awesome forummembers. There is not a single forummember who's not super nice and lovely. All of you whom i met, it was so great. I made a lot of trips with a lot of forummembers for gigs.

Belgium with Joslyn and Irishfan
Spain with Chemd' up, AcidChildren, MC Marsh, Irishfan
NYE's (London) with....EVERYBODY!
London with Joslyn
Dublin with Chemd'up
Antwerp w/ Joslyn and Den_B

Going to Awakefest witg Madpooter & the gang
Meeting Iggy in Amsterdam
Having Darkstar over in Amsterdam
And offcourse..CALIFORNIA!! The big meet up with Whirls and Stash w/ Mips, Darkstar, McMarsh. That was one of the happiest times in my life.

And so many more occasions!! And awesome people i met! Sneaks, Biff, Tom & Ed,McChebne, too much to remember!

I really met some people who are really in my heart!

I still think the funniest forummember of all time was Chrisman.
Who remembers the drunk pics he used to post ?!

Hahahaha :-D

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Board - the legendary EBW 8/9 thread (for those of you who might not know, Ed used to be miloco2forum)

http://www.thechemic...pic/4423-ebw-89

There was also the legendary 'jerk chicken' affair that that not only made it to the last Chems site as Steve Dub's famous jerk chicken recipe, it was also etched into history as illustrated below (Do It Again extended mix)

Speaking of which - does anyone have a copy of those jerk chicken and salmon recipes? I kept putting off making them and now I can't. :(
Like Whitenoise (who seems to be looking more and more like me every day, haha) I haven't been here all that long. I may need some instruction. Nevertheless, I was still here for some stuff - I was present at the unveiling of Escape Velocity, for example, where I accidentally turned on my webcam a few times. And further back, I was one of the first proponents of Don't Think, back when it was still "After Sunglasses" and everyone was focusing on EV.
In short, I am cooler than you all because of the few things I've been present for. Now bow down.

I was never very active in the forums posting wise, but remember all those old names that were brought up. Only people I have met were Jeanie when she was in NYC a couple of years back, and some other cool dude at a show in NYC (forgot his name). I lived in NYC my entire life, and Jeanie managed to introduce me to two new things in NY (Pop Burger and the Chelsea Market) that I never even heard of before. Hope everyone is doing well!

Even the internet archive Way Back Machine can't pull up the Good Things portion of the site that had the recipes. I just checked... I don't have the salmon one. But here's an old post from my husband from a few years ago:

Dude, it's so close to my version. I make it once a year:</p>
1/2 cup white vinegar

zest and juice of 4 limes

1/4 cup vegetable oil (peanut by preference)

6 scallions (spring or green onions)

3 cloves of garlic

2 scotch bonnets, seeded and chopped

1 1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, diced

2 tablespoons of allspice

2 tablespoons of ground thyme

2 tablespoons cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
combine in food processor, apply to chicken, let marinate for at least a day in the fridge, grill over open flame
It's funny, my recipe still used imperial measurements.
ED! Dude, we need to have Astralwerks sponsor a transcontinental chicken cook-off! I can't produce to save my life, but I'll put my chicken up against Steves (wow, that sounds really, really gay) any day o' the week! (srsly, it would be like a dream of mine to make you guys dinner. I fuckin' owe you that much at least, for all the joy you've given us)

Pink Shoes: A Japanese forum member who hadn't quite grasped the beauty of the English language. She made us all laugh (at her admittedly) but after a while she became very annoying. She used to call me "iggy child" I think, but I can't remember much because those were my heavy drinking days so I'll get the others to fill you in.

Slipvin: He was my predecessor, an obvious troll. He was hated, but I liked him as we were brothers of the soul. I understood where he was coming from, and I liked the fact he didn't care what people thought of him.

Haha.

okay i Happy thanks you iggy child

Oh my gosh, that thread is awesome. I envy you guys

Speaking of etchings, did we ever figure out what "looks like a saab job" on the Further vinyl meant?

From the top of my head :

EBW8/9 1st play on Radio 1
Escape Velocity first play, with webcams
(I can't wait til the first play of CHEM10 with an holographic conference with all the members of the forum)

We Are The Night leak, and the first sharing with forum members on MSN (not really a forum moment, but it's a great memory, hearing the album for the first time and sharing that with other fans)

And all the times Ed bashed us with his cynical comments :D

EDIT : oh yeah ! and meeting with McMarsh, Ben and Bouh in London before the Roundhouse

I would say my least favourite Chemical memory was NYE @ Turnmills (I can't remember what year) when I drank too much too quickly (Wetherspoons is cheap) and I was sick 7 times (throughout the evening), got kicked in the neck by a girl, and a munter fell on me from a great height - that hurt. Then, having to walk out into the freezing cold at 6am and having to wait for a train with the taste of sick in my mouth and the feeling of my eye balls sinking into the back of my skull. I wanted to die.

Meeting Jeanie in Amsterdamn was brilliant, she is a great person to be around - she is ALIVE and possesses this aura of energy. Me and me mate Dave had to leave early (apparently 4am is early in Amsterdamn) cos we had bad backs hahaha.

I remember myself, McMarsh and my mate Lewis walking through London in the early hours on the last night of Turnmills (now it's an office I think :() incredibly hungry as we hadn't eaten for HOURS. We thought we saw a McDonalds in the distance but we came to the idea that it was in fact a mirage. As we got closer our mouths grew wider and wetter from the thought of delicious food. It was real! It was there! We couldn't believe it, we walked in and ordered the breakfast. I was so hungry at that point, I could have eaten anything but it turns out a McDonalds breakfast is fucking disgusting. To make things worse, a group of girls sat with us, which I would normally encourage except they didn't look like they knew how to bathe.

The meet with Whirly and 'Stash was great, even though Woking is a shit hole. I couldn't properly so I had to take it easy as I'd been 'spiked' the week before and still felt shite. They're good people :D Sneaks DJ'ing at Vamps was brilliant, I remember dancing like a pro and that guy who had the loudest claps on Earth. That was the first time I got to meet the legendary ChemicalFan who was sporting a pair of Nike trainers and tracksuit bottoms. The dress code was non-existant.

Haha yeah that London trip was way mad Jeanie.

Getting on a plane, getting on a tube, dumping our stuff in a hostel (did why sleep there? can't remember), eating and drinking in a pub, going to the Roundhouse, going outside the Roundhouse cause of a fire alarm, going back inside, seeing an awesome gig, going to the afterparty, going to a pub, getting our stuf, going on a tube, getting on a plane back to Holland. This all in less than 24 hours. Jeans remark: "it was great but never again"

We should have done it last years roundhouse gig...

The great EBW8/9 round up was fast. It was the fastest growing topic ever.

NYE Turnmills meet up with everybody there, the big drop of Burst Generator at 00:00, hearing Justin Robertson spin "Problems/Animal track" running to the couch were the rest was lying wasted, dancing my ass off
ahhh Turnmills, we'll miss you

seems I have missed a couple of things here over the past few years.

however, meeting up with jos in cologne back in 2005 was a cool experience, wish we could have stayed for the rest of the night but had to take a train early.
love is all.
