the other one, dare i say, was way too minimal :X , this really fits the sound of the album, especially No Path To Follow having that cold icy sound to it going in to the star-infused we are the night. really nice, wonder if kate gibb did this or someone else at big active...

ok... flicking between the two covers its clear the new design is definably the stronger design. The temporary version looks too easy and has nothing to tell. This design takes it from out of space to a freaky earth experience.

Oh my god! I was perfectly fine with the temporary artwork, but this seriously blows my mind. Holy moly...! That's the satiny bow on the beautiful package right there!! Who did this artwork??
Those eyes in the hands very much remind me of that character from Pan's Labyrinth...

Shit, this is gonna draw bullshit from the they ripped the Pan's Labyrinth monster camp. Fuck! I'm really hoping this is a fake and someone with a funny sense of humour did this after seeing the film.
I think I found the original artwork more ethereal and psychedelic. It was sorta light, but, ermm, I'm just worried about that straight similiarity with the monster from the film I'm talkin about. I'm confused.

the hands are EXACTLY the fookin same!!!
excuse me, i just saw the film a coupla days back, so I'm a bit edgy with this artwork, i'll get over it.
it's a hard hitting cover - very gritty.

I really could care less if the Chems get slammed for having eyes in the hands because of a visual that was in some film!! I shouldn't have even said anything, I was just shocked into throwing the idea out there.
It's not as though Pan's Labyrinth was entirely original, come on - Eye of Fatima, anyone? If anything that's a better analogy. Plus, Pan's Pale Man was evil in a bad way, and this Chems artwork is not. A bit menacing in an omnipotent way as well as mysterious, but not evil and sinister like Pans... both visuals create different feelings.
I fuckin love it. Just take the artwork for what it is and feelings it provokes and relate it to the Chems not some film. I can get lost gazing into it - there's a face there, a mouth, nose... This artwork is something you can really loose yourself in if you let it, like the music. I am really friggen inspired by it, actually.
