Saw them play at the Chibuku party at Nation (what used to be Cream) in Liverpool a few weeks ago. They played a much harder set without most of the usual indie-pop mash-ups. Bloody great they were too. 8)

* Well the venue, was very good, very big with loads of cool rooms with character, would be wicked for a chemical event if not packed.

* The night overall was ok, maybe a little bit of a let down, this mainly due to queueing for 2 hours to get inside at 12.30, then when being inside it being over filled, there no quite areas in the club the corners were even full. The line up and times were also not being posted anywhere, with Zoe Ball and Babyshambles not turning up, a rude crowd of people mainly indie kids pushing and shoveing all night all hacked me off.

* However I did enjoy the few people i saw play, 2manydjs set was cool with much acid house, they dropped EBW7, however it was rammed though out. Tiga was good but didnt see all of his set as my mates wanted to leave. Bloc party was cool playing indie tunes. Didnt actually see niteversion live though.

* I think the main highlight was speaking to Kele, he was quite drunk and at one point was sleeping opposite me in the seating area. I told him i was a fan of the chems and liked Belive, he said he liked it but felt his voice didnt sound quite right, I asked about working with chems again and he said that maybe one day and that currentally bloc party are working with basement jaxx. He was a friendly guy just like the chems and said he liked Ed and Tom. Also spoke to Matt about there summer shows and apprentally V is only one in UK and there is a tour in september.

I did the dumbest fricken thing last night.

I crashed out on the couch with a pillow under my right leg. Sometime shortly after midnight, stash rouses me from my coma, "Come on, off the couch and into bed" much like how he does every night because I always manage to konk out. So in a half sleep I pull myself off the couch, start to walk, and I was too dazed to realize my right calf and entire foot were asleep. So my right ankle collapses, my foot buckles and there went me falling straight on my tailbone to the floor. Good thing we don't have downstairs neighbors yet.

Pain really is quite the eye opener.

One would think that when your extremities fall asleep there would be no discomfort. But good god, between the prickly pins and needles of the blood starting to circulate normally plus the sick warm swelling of my ankle, what a crap way to wake up. And being dazed I got this buzzing in my head - you know, like how it is when you're about to pass out. How could I be so... lame?? I'm a klutz and an idiot. I've sprained my ankles (both of them, at the same time - me being clumsy, don't ask) about 3 years ago and the pain wasn't as bad as it was last night. I can handle a great deal of pain, actually. But there was something about last night that had me curled up in a ball pulling a Peter Griffin, "ssssssssssssss aaaaahhhhh ssssssssssssssssss aaaaahhhhhh" over and over...

My ankle today isn't as bad as I thought it would be, at least I can walk!

D'oh! I've suffered enough ankle and knee injuries through sports over the years to empathize thoroughly! I've finally been injury free for about 6 months now, I think (knock on wood!).

I was watching the Arsenal - Villareal match today and one of the Villareal defenders came down awkwardly on his ankle and on the replay you could see his ankle completely roll over. I had to turn away; it made me squeamish with sympathetic pain.
