You can rent a house, a rather large house, complete with food and servants, right on a beach, in various tropical, developing countries, for very very cheap. Like, say, Jamaica, Costa Rica or Cabo San Lucas.



The cost of such a thing, deferred amongst 10 or 12 participants, would be much less than renting a hotel room for a mere weekend in most european cities.

Yeah, stash and I really were talking about how fun it would be. I think what started the conversation was how mX told a new poster (who is from Mexico) that his country sucked, and we giggled at that and thought it would be fun to meet mX one day because he seems like a funny guy... and we could probably find a cool house to rent in Mexico... and it would be cool if we could have an incredibly geeky forum meet up just for the sake of meeting up for no other good reason than meeting up and having a big party. Yeah. That would be fun.

Puerto Vallarta would be cool. It's cheap to fly there from Winnipeg. Cheaper than flying almost anywhere else I can think of.

Yeah, Puerto Vallarta is one of the most popular winter travel destinations for Winnipeggers. My mom and two of my aunts and several of my friends have been there. Most international flights out of Winnipeg use Minneapolis, Toronto or Chicago as a gateway hub, but Puerto Vallarta is usually a direct flight. Been looking at maybe going there or another sunny destination for NYE or spring break next year with some friends anyways.

is there mescaline in the house? count me in!

Let's do Baja California, that'd be like a 10 minute drive for you, whirly & stash, and I wouldn't have to fly. just drive in mexico and get pulled over by cops/bribe them to the point where it would've been cheaper to fly to South Africa..
