I really love the transition into 'Horse Power'...(Easily my favourite track on the opus)..
'Snow' is soothing with the references to being lifted Higher........(Are Tom & Ed purposely trying to provide a soundscape to Heaven??????)........and sounds that are from another dimension......
'Escape Velocity' continues this theme as the title suggests that we are trying to leave this hyperplane.....and the sounds confirm this........ At breakneck speed I am on the journey..........
YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Fellow Chemical Brothers I love this trip that our two wonderful magicians are taking me on.........................

There isn't a weak track on there, every one is brilliant and it really takes me back to the Roundhouse gig. I don't even need to watch the accompanying visuals in order to visualise the experience once more... proper goosebumps on my goosebumps stuff.
I'd just like to say, if you're reading this Tom & Ed and the rest of the team involved in producing this record, thank you very much for creating what is quite possibly one of the most perfect electronic music albums I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Further is your Dark Side Of The Moon.
And to the guys behind the visuals, all I can say is fucking wow
I must give this album full marks (well, maybe less one mark cos I simply want MORE!)
Bring on Sonar, I can't wait!

The ending of Snow leading into that gut busting moment two minutes into Escape Velocity just makes my life and makes me ridiculously happy. No joking. Another World and Dissolve are dreamlike. Horse Power is insane in the best way possible. Swoon is beast in it's full version. KDB is beautiful, Wonders of the Deep just finishes it off so well. It's just such a good album. (top marks for Don't Think too)
I was thinking recently, that I usually see bands with large discographies in 3 album cycles (possibly caused by Thom Yorke saying this in an interview once) and I think this can apply to the Chemical Brothers, and with the decades too. The three 00's albums by them were certainly very different in a way to the three released in the 90's. It's a new decade and a new triumvirate, and Further feels like something completely new for the Chems. I honestly can't wait to find out what comes next. Someone get me a Delorean, I heard there's a flux capacitor app these days.

The most wonderfull thing about this album is sounds modern/futuristic and at the same time it has old elements in it. Am I the only or are those 3 synth sounds in Snow a wink to Kraftwerks Autobahn?? In Horse Power I hear a Delik reference. It may not be the same sound but the fact that it reminds my of track done over 15 years ago and now it's an evil, sinister techno track. And if the Beatles would have a bigger room of keyboards, or if they lived a bit longer and used more LSD, they would have made Dissolve.
Further also confirms the fact thet Tom and Ed are very, very clever musicians. Hey boy, hey girl is acid house. The vocal sample makes it a pop, radio friendly track you can still dance to. Same with Swoon. The album version is a great music piece with hardly any vocals which works perfect. The radio edit is exactly what Ed said at the forum, a radio edit, a pop song, radio friendly which could/should get a lot of airtime. It shows what clever use of lyrics can do. The lyrics of Another World fits the story very well but I don't like them that much. I acknowledge the fact the sound sincere, as Whirly said, but the music is so beautifull that the lyrics degrade the track IMO.
The Visual trip is a nice little "finding love again" story. This could only be done by The Chemical Brothers in collaboration with Adam and Marcus. They are the first, and they should be the first to do this. The film was a lot of work with a lot of patience, as shown in the making of. The dive scene in Snow is so a-ma-zing to watch. The story evolves nicely, entering a stange world in Escape Velocity, being lost in Dissolve, a scary dream in Horse Power and finding love again in Swoon. But what is "the lord of dots" meaning? Is he a higher power in this Another world?
It's an amazing audio/video album. It's a true, new gem in an already amazing discography of the Brothers. I'm glad I don't get Don't think as a bonus on the album. If haven't heard it but I think it breaks the flow of the album. While Wonders of the deep isn't the same euphoric ending of an album as Reel or Surface to air it's a proper ending to Further

But, it turns out that Another World and K+D+B are among my album favourites.
Yet, Dissolve keeps being my n°1 and Don't Think will be the best track live (just like Surface To Air is the best track of PTB and Believe is the best libe track of PTB).

The sound and it's effect is so massive, I'm freaking out!
The volume on my amp is at 12, the max is 40.

its an incredible piece of work, and i really, really love it.
lots of the tracks were played at fabric last year (pretty much all of them i think) and it's great to hear them 'on disc'
i really like k + d + b - it sounds like Neu jamming with some weird 60's psyche band.
dissolve is just - EPIC.
another world has the wobble of sex.
snow makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
escape velocity brings on the euphoria.
swoon is the sound of summer.
horse power is a chunky beast - i was really hoping it would be the galloping horse silver techno tune (or at least a little nod to it) but it is good to know that we didnt imagine the horse noises at fabric. and that the vocal 'drugs, powder' is in fact 'horse, power'
wonders of the deep has a tinge of melancholy about it, which i really like and is a superb album closer.
what i like most about this album is that it feels like the chems are stretching their legs and really playing with different sounds and tempos. the melodies are amazing and the whole album is just a deeply satisfying emotional experience.
tom, ed, hats off. and thank you!
