LAKE OF STARS 2008 LAUNCH PARTY AT UNIT 7, LONDON: MAY 24TH

Lake of Stars 2008 is on it's way! Get warmed up and come along to the launch party at Unit 7 in east London with very special guest Ed Chemical doing a rare reggae set. The night is also the launch party for the White Ribbon Alliance project: Convoy to Cape Town - 26 artists travelling from Jo'burg to Cape Town performing at gigs all the way along to the finale at the World Economic Forum.

Ed does reggae? Top notch. Wished I could be there. It's somewhat special!

Way to go Ed! not just a diverse DJ, but he also contributes to positive causes.the following is taken off the website which is associated with the event!

"The white ribbon is dedicated to the memory of all women who have died in pregnancy and childbirth. Worldwide, every minute of every day, a woman dies of pregnancy-related complications nearly 600,000 women each year.

Most of these deaths can be prevented. The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood unites individuals, organizations and communities who are working to increase public awareness about this needless loss of life and to promote safe motherhood worldwide."

I think it's cool. It's good that Ed is out and about and does these solo gigs. What better way to welcome summertime which is just around the conrer, than with some quality reggae (and maybe some dancehall thrown in).

Even sweeter that it's for a good cause. Don't forget to wish your moms a Happy Mother's Day, kids!

Who is going to this event?

I like the idea, shows it what different influences formed the greatness of their music - diversity!
