I'd like to believe that at least in the beautiful French language, acts and articles must sound a little smoother and more intriguing than our shitty and as dry as a bone like officialese with phrases longer than a zz-Top beard.

brilliant. that reminds me of a story, years back. we had a guy from the UK here who had learnt German at his home place, with a little help of some German who used "Alter" quite often. so, that young lad came over and went to a club with us where he was asked whether he had a lighter. he replied "nein, Alter". (means "No, Dude") that was sooooo brilliant as that other guy just stared at him not knowing what to say. actually, the word "Alter" is not used as much here as our young friend had thought.

- Do you own, or have you ever owned, a pet? (If not, don't continue. Thanks anyway! )
- How many?
- What kind of animal(s) is/was/were it/they?
- How old are you? (just a statistical thing; I promise it won't be used for anything else! Pinky swear!)

Yes, I have owned pets

8 pets total. Growing up I had 2 dogs, and briefly had a cat. After I moved out I had 1 dog. Counting my son's pets I have had a hamster, a gecko and 2 red eared slider turtles. Now we have just a 50 gallon aquarium with 17 fish. Not sure if those count though. I had aquariums and fish bowls growing up as well.

I am 39 !

- yes, I have had many pets
- lots, overall probably over 100
- 20 cats, 4 dogs, guinea pigs (lots), mice, lizards, turtles, birds

Thanks for the help guys! You may be something of a "deviation" in my teacher's statistics though - I'm guessing she wasn't expecting polling information from an electronic music forum!
