YEAH! Hahaha... awesome meeting you two. Or, three, actually!

Too bad there wasn't much light in the restaurant, but we'll meet up again sometime down the road when my Chemical travels bring me by the L.A. area.

GOOD TIMES! :D

hahaha new sig!

Yeah, Biff doesn't really match what I'd think someone would look like with the name. Definitly like that guy. The name was a pseudonym I used online for years (named after a pet I had R.I.P. 95-96) so I figured it'd be better than going by dave/david

Sweet. Your sig makes me want to listen to some Huey Lewis. Which in turn makes me want to watch American Psycho.

(PS. Jeez, just noticed it's 1:15 AM and I have a LOT of studying to do for tomorrow's exam. Why don't I ever get my shit in gear at a reasonable time of night? This'll be another 5 AM night, if I'm lucky. My hours are so screwed up, I just ate dinner [a nice plate of ribs] an hour ago.)

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83,I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consimante professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour.

In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

hahah what a scene!

Darkstar - when we were at that Motel 6, it was like a giant flashback. When Connor was out cold, stash went over to the liquor store across the way and grabbed a drink which we split and went out in front of our room to have a smoke. We were reminiscing of Coachella and thought when the cops paid a visit to our room, it was a bonding experience like no other...

"This is in Indio Police, can you open up?"

I was so shocked I didn't know what to do. I was so buslagged (and stoned) I just froze. Thank God 'stash can bullshit his way through a conversation about The Cure.

You guys should totally share this story with us! Now that you have mentioned this event you gotta tell the whole story! Please!! (Sits down indian style, folds hands together, eyes wide, leans in for a better listen....)

It happened the night before Coachella 2005. I bussed down to California from Canada and Whirly and 'stash were kind enough to let me crash in their hotel room for a couple days.

Here's the thread. It's a bit of a long read, but there's some good stuff in there. Reviews of the set, pics of the Coachella experience, I give a long monologue about my trip, etc.

Wow, that thread brings back a ton of memories! MadPooter and his Oakland to Coachella (purgatory to nirvana) experience. Plus there was a great post by someone named 21P in there. Also Jeanie laughing at the ass crack (excellent ass-id crack) pics. stash asking for Cliff notes on my posts. The gap in the fence being sealed off the next day like Fort Knox and oh god just re-reading how torn up your feet got!

Good times. Goooooooooood times...!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
