I still say that the Sumner vocals are by far the worst he ever did. The 1995 version sounds worlds better than the old one - either Hardfloor have a magician in their studio, or Bernard re-recorded them like they did for Confusion 2002 (which is damn cool, especially the koma+bones mix).
i have never had a problem with bernards vocal in the 83 mix of blue monday!! i doubt the people who helped it make the biggest selling 12" of all time have much of a problem with it to. it's quite funny how you mention that the vocal in the hardfloor mix is better, yet fail to mention the bastardisation of the music on the hardfloor mix. how to ruin a classic. they should have left it well alone!!
