When you clicked this topic you are either curious about who this is or you are a comic book fan.
With all the comic book movies over the last couple of years film studios are also getting more intersted in the heavier graphic novels to make a movie out of. One of the best writers in that genre has to be Alan Moore. Most famous for his books as Watchmen, League of extraordinary gentleman and From Hell. A book to be released as a movie soon is V for Vendetta.
I'm a big comic book reader and Alans books are great. Some of them are really literature. From Hell is a black and white novel with gives a dark look on the Jack the Ripper story. V for Vendetta is a story about a revolution in England reads like a Shakespeare story (because of the quotes of the main character).
Last night on the Culture show on BBC 2 there was an interview with Alan Moore. Which is very rare certainly for tv. Unfortunatly I came late in the programm and a only saw 2 minutes. He said he really hated the movies that's been made out of his stories. And I must say that the comics are so much better than the movies.
On the BBC website you can watch it again but this is for UK residents only. So if some of you are intersted here you are: http://www.bbc.co.uk...id=culture_show
Maybe someone can help me out so I can watch it aswell.

No man, from everything I read they basicly directed the whole thing, they guy who's credited as the director was just their puppet...
I cannot fucking wait for this flick.
I've been reading all of Moore's stuff recently, I need to get a copy of Promethea, that looks fucking weird as hell.

well back in the day before the chemical brothers were my favorite band. there was a band pop wil eat itself, the most diverse and influential band on me. (maybe they still are!!)
in 1989 they recorded a track 'can u dig it' which had the line 'alan moore knows the score' as well as 'v for vendeter' amongst other sample friendly lines.
i am so looking forward to seeing this movie just to know where they were coming from at the times its gonna be cool

I should point out that, whilst I am able to get a copy of this show, I would never abuse my position, at the licence payer's expense! X-D
Right, that should keep any angry licence fee payers at bay! ;-)
